Corporate Advisory Firm of the Year 2008 - Insider South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards
27 June 2008
I should like to think that everyone is aware of the high level of corporate finance activity in the firm during the last 12 months. We were delighted therefore that we recently won the award of Corporate Advisory Firm of the Year 2008 at the South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards.
This award is based on voting by a combination of fellow professionals involved in corporate finance as well as deal doers. It is therefore a tremendous acknowledgement and endorsement by our peers of the firm’s standing as corporate finance advisors.
The award is intended to reflect corporate finance activity in the year to April 2008. During this period the corporate finance team advised on 18 transactions which included buyouts, corporate transactions, disposals and raising growth capital.
We acted for a wide range of local and not so local companies.
Some of the well known local companies for whom we acted on transactions included Crawshaw Butchers (disposal), Davy Markham (buyout), Go Outdoors (fundraising), Mayflower Engineering (MBO), Solpro (refinancing), H Turner (buyback of shares of wider family - an article on this will appear in the next issue of The Knowledge) and Zoo Digital Publishing.
Clearly we have to strive to win the Award again next year and certainly we continue to be active. In the last few weeks two more transactions on which we have advised have successfully completed, the disposal of Pearce Buckle and the sale of the business carried on by Intermet Refractory Products.
