Barber Harrison & Platt consolidates Top 60 position
7 July 2008
Barber Harrison & Platt has reaffirmed its position as the largest independent firm of chartered accountants in South Yorkshire, and indeed the whole of Yorkshire by appearing in 55th position in Accountancy’s Top 60 league table of UK accountancy firms 2008.
Barber Harrison & Platt first appeared in the Top 60 league table in 2007 when it was placed 59th. Following a year in which it achieved a near 20% growth in fee income it has now climbed to 55th position.
This follows only a few days after Barber Harrison & Platt won the award of Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the year at the Insiders South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards Dinner. This award is based on voting by fellow corporate finance professionals and so reflects the high regard in which the firm is held by its peers.

“We are very pleased that our continuing growth means that we have secured our position as a Top 60 UK accountancy practice. We continue to build and develop a team of highly competent professionals who provide a broad range of advisory, audit, corporate finance and tax services to an increasing number of businesses in the region. In particular over the past 12 months we have seen several excellent new recruits join us in very senior positions in taxation and corporate finance. We have also recently launched our specialist Rapid Growth Team to advise rapid growth businesses. We believe that our commitment to client service will support our continued growth”.
